Marietta Art in the Park

2026 details. The 40th annual Marietta Art in the Park, presented by the Marietta Business Association, ran Saturday, Sept. 5, through Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day in Glover Park, 50 N. Park Square. Admission was free. From the city’s 2026 announcement:

  • Juried Artist Market: about 200 fine artists from around the country selling painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, jewelry and more, with daily demonstrations.
  • Chalk Spot: children draw on 3-foot squares on a closed street, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; $10 on site, benefiting the Marietta High School visual arts program.
  • Children’s Art Alley: a kids’ zone with activities, games and crafts, many free.
  • Music: local singer-songwriters in the Glover Park gazebo, free; bring chairs or a blanket.
  • Food: the festival sends visitors to the Square’s own restaurants instead of food trucks; beer, wine and soft drinks are sold on site.

The organizers say the festival draws about 55,000 visitors over three days. The festival map and 2027 news are on the Art in the Park site.

Parking: the City Hall deck at 205 Lawrence St. is free on weekends and weekday evenings, and street parking around the Square is free, the announcement says. More in our getting around guide.

What is open and closed

  • City offices: The city closed its administrative offices and the Marietta Power and Water offices on Labor Day 2026. The 2027 notice had not been posted when we checked.
  • Splash pad: the Elizabeth Porter Park sprayground was open for daily admission on Labor Day 2026, its last day on the summer schedule, according to the city’s sprayground page.
  • Pools: Cobb County’s outdoor pools, including Sewell Park Pool, closed for the season on Labor Day, Sept. 7, in 2026, according to the county’s pools page.
  • William Root House is closed on Labor Day, according to its hours page.
  • Schools: Cobb County schools listed Labor Day as a holiday on their 2026-27 calendar; check each district’s 2027-28 calendar for next year.

Trash pickup Labor Day week

In 2026 the city announced, according to its Labor Day schedule notice:

  • No trash collection on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7.
  • Monday routes moved to Tuesday, and Tuesday routes moved to Wednesday.
  • No yard waste service that week.

  • Art in the Park is free and runs all three days of the holiday weekend, Saturday to Monday.
  • If your trash goes out Monday or Tuesday, expect it a day later Labor Day week.
