The city’s dog park rules

From the city’s off-leash area rules (PDF) and park pages:

  • Pit bulls and Rottweilers are prohibited from dog parks and off-leash areas, as are dogs with known aggressive tendencies and dogs in heat.
  • Dogs must be at least 4 months old, licensed and vaccinated, with current tags on the collar.
  • Three dogs per owner or handler per visit.
  • Keep your dog on a leash until you are inside the double-gated entry, then unleash it there; keep the leash with you at all times.
  • Dogs must be under voice control and in sight. Clean up after your dog and fill any holes it digs.
  • No food for people or dogs, including treats, inside the fenced area.
  • Children under 14 must be with an adult.
  • You use the area at your own risk and are liable for your dog’s behavior.

Breaking these rules violates the city code. The full city code is on the Marietta Code of Ordinances site.
