Marietta High's Class of 2026 graduated at a record 95.1%, up 19.4 points since 2019, and posted a 1092 SAT average, 61 points above Georgia's public schools.
Marietta High School’s Class of 2026 graduated on time at a rate of 95.1%, the highest in the school’s history.
The figure is the four-year graduation rate, from data the Georgia Department of Education released Sept. 28. Marietta City Schools published it the same day in a district news release. The unrounded rate is 95.09%.
Two days later the district reported a second record. The class’s average SAT score was 1092, the highest since the College Board redesigned the test in 2016, according to a second district release.
Seven straight years of gains
The rate has risen for seven consecutive years. It is up 19.4 percentage points since 2019, when it stood at 75.7%. Last year’s class graduated at 92.2%.
The district said that rise ranks:
- first in metro Atlanta for overall increase since 2019
- fourth among Georgia’s 180 school districts
The gains reach every student group the district reported. English learners rose furthest, from 41% in 2019 to 90.2% this year. The rate for white students held level at 97.7%.

Since 2019, the district said, it ranks first in metro Atlanta for graduation rate gains among Hispanic, Black, English learner and economically disadvantaged students. Statewide it ranks:
- first for Hispanic students and English learners
- third for economically disadvantaged students
- ninth for Black students
The Class of 2026 had 570 graduates. The district said 80.3% reported plans to attend college, and the class earned more than $5.35 million in scholarships.
“Our team knew which students were on track, which students were at risk of falling behind, and what needed to happen to get them across the finish line,” Principal Marvin Crumbs said in the release.
Superintendent Grant Rivera said Crumbs and his team “monitored and supported every senior’s progress throughout the year.”
The SAT results
According to the College Board figures the district cited, 271 Marietta students took the SAT, up from 256 the year before. The average total score rose nine points from 2025 and 40 points from 2023. It is the third straight year of gains.
Georgia’s public-school average rose two points, so Marietta’s gain was more than four times the state’s. Marietta has beaten both the Georgia and national public-school averages for five years in a row.
| SAT section | Marietta | Georgia public schools | National public schools |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading and writing | 560 | 525 | 515 |
| Math | 532 | 506 | 496 |
| Total | 1092 | 1031 | 1011 |

That puts Marietta’s total 61 points above the Georgia average and 81 points above the national one.
“The gains in SAT speak to rigor in our schools and the unwavering commitment by every educator,” Rivera said.
