Father’s Day 2027 is Sunday, June 20. In Marietta it shares the weekend with Juneteenth, and in 2026 the two were celebrated together on the Square.

Planes, battlefields and history

Aviation History and Technology Center, 555 Perrin Road. Explore 15 military and civilian aircraft, including the inside of a C-141B StarLifter, with veterans and former aviation workers on staff. Open Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m., with last admission at 4:20 p.m. Adults $7, students and seniors $5, under 5 free. Guided tours run at 1 p.m. on request when volunteers are available, and hours depend on the weather. All from the center’s visit page.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. The visitor center is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and a free shuttle runs to the top of the mountain every half hour, according to the park’s information page; parking fees apply. The park marked the 162nd anniversary of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain on June 27-28, 2026, as listed by Visit Marietta. Trails are in our walking and biking trails guide.

Juneteenth and Father’s Day on the Square: 2026

The Cobb County branch of the NAACP and the city co-host Marietta’s annual Juneteenth celebration. In 2026 it ran over the Father’s Day weekend:

• Juneteenth Cultural Festival, Saturday, June 20, 2026, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Marietta Square. Free.
• Juneteenth Father’s Day Salute to Heroes, Sunday, June 21, 2026, 2 to 6 p.m., Glover Park. Free.

Both as listed by Visit Marietta, with the organizer at cobbnaacp.org. The city’s 2026 event calendar listed the Juneteenth Celebration as June 19-21. The 2027 dates had not been posted.
