South of South Marietta Parkway, Fairground Street passes the Cobb County Civic Center, city sports complexes and Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus. The city’s bus hub, the Marietta Transfer Center, is here too.

Where it is

This page covers four districts the city’s 2019 Envision Marietta LCI update draws in this part of town:

  • Victory/Aviation, along Victory Drive and Aviation Road. The plan says Bell Aircraft “transformed Marietta during World War II with the construction of the B-29 bomber plant and subsequent residences built to house the more than twenty thousand employees,” that the plant “became what is now the Dobbins Air Reserve Base in 1951,” and that “many of these homes are located in the proposed Victory/Aviation District.”
  • Fairground Street, which the plan groups with Victory/Aviation and Gramling as historic residential communities where it “focuses on preserving and reinvesting in affordable housing.”
  • The Entertainment District, “centered around the Cobb Civic Center and the surrounding sports facilities.”
  • The Education District, around “Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus,” which the plan calls the southeast gateway into the city.

In the city’s parcel data, 83% of parcels here are in ZIP code 30060, 8% in 30064 and 5% in 30067.

Schools

The area is inside the city, so it is served by Marietta City Schools. Three district schools are here: Park Street Elementary at 105 Park St. SE, the Marietta Sixth Grade Academy at 340 Aviation Road and the Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, a magnet school that takes students by application, at 311 Aviation Road. The share column is the share of parcels in this area zoned to each school in the city’s parcel data; the score is the school’s 2025 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) from the state’s School Grades report.

Level School Share of parcels 2025 CCRPI

How we drew this area

The area is the city parcels east of the Manget and Lemon Street areas and west of the Cobb Parkway and Franklin Gateway corridor, from Roswell Street south past South Marietta Parkway. It follows the Envision plan’s district drawings, which are not parcel lines, so edges are approximate. School and ZIP shares count every parcel in that area in the city’s parcel data on Oct. 5, 2026. Store locations are © OpenStreetMap contributors.
